Macroscopic modeling, simulation, and optimization of the selective beam melting process
The aim of the subproject is to extend the simulation tool for LSS-K, LSS-M and SEBM from the first two funding periods to a hierarchical simulation environment in order to develop and qualify problem- and parts-adapted simulation strategies. This requires the application of reduced physical models, compensation strategies for error reduction and efficient algorithms, e.g. adaptive multi-rate time inte-grators. The process simulations (for parts up to 1000 cm3) will support the process control for the reproducible production of parts with defined properties.
